Chapter 225 - 222: You’re Not Allowed to Talk About Other Men in Front of Me
Chapter 225 - 222: You’re Not Allowed to Talk About Other Men in Front of Me
’We kids aren’t childish at all,’ Cherie thought defiantly, silently coming to the defense of children everywhere.
"So, Clara, do you like that not-so-childish Uncle Quinn outside?" In the end, he couldn’t resist asking again.
’Like him?’ Clara Grant scoffed internally, but all that came out was a disdainful "Tch."
The moment she did, she looked up and saw Seth Quinn walking in. For some reason, she felt an inexplicable pang of guilt.
Clara Grant thought she must be going crazy. ’I don’t even like him, so why should I feel guilty?’
...
After spending the morning playing with Cherie, Clara Grant started to worry. She was concerned that playing so intensely for so long would be too much for him. She was also afraid that if Seth Quinn really had caught a cold, he might pass it on to Cherie.
Besides, she had to rush back to the film set that afternoon. She reluctantly said goodbye to Cherie, promising to come back and visit whenever she had time.
Finally, she couldn’t resist planting a few more kisses on his cheeks before she left, glancing back with every step.
As she walked out, she didn’t notice Seth Quinn, who was behind her, give a subtle look to a man waiting outside. The man nodded back at him.
He watched Seth Quinn and the others round the corner into the elevator before breathing a sigh of relief. ’The missus is finally gone. Now we can take the young master home without any fuss.’
Once they were in the car, something else occurred to Clara Grant. She turned her head to look at Seth Quinn and asked, "Are you and Dr. Linden close?"
’If I remember correctly, Dr. Linden called him Seth. People don’t use such a familiar name unless they’re close, right?’
"Yeah, we’re friends," Seth Quinn admitted freely.
"Oh," Clara Grant said, nodding. ’That explains why Dr. Linden is so dedicated to Cherie’s care.’
When she just said "Oh" and nothing more, Seth Quinn couldn’t help but glance over at her. "What is it?"
"Oh, it’s nothing. I was just thinking that Dr. Linden is incredible. He’s so young, yet he’s already a leading expert on heart and brain conditions. And he’s so handsome! The best part is, even his name sounds nice."
She had glanced at his name tag earlier and saw the name written on it: Rowan Linden.
He looked to be about the same age as Seth Quinn. ’But then again,’ she suddenly realized, ’I don’t even know how old Seth is.’
His date of birth was on their marriage certificate, but she had never bothered to look at it closely.
’We’ve been married for this long, and I don’t even know my own husband’s age. How ridiculous is that?’
But she was too embarrassed to ask him directly. Her mind whirred, and she tried a roundabout approach, feigning casualness. "Hey, how old is he? He seems to be about your age."
The words had barely left her mouth when Seth Quinn’s gaze darkened. He reached out and flicked her on the forehead. It was gentle, but she still jumped in surprise. The gesture felt far too intimate.
Seth Quinn’s voice rang out, tinged with displeasure. "From now on, you are not to discuss other men in front of me. And you’re certainly not to ask about them... No, you’re not allowed to do it behind my back, either!"
His tone was domineering and autocratic. Clara Grant couldn’t help but pout her full lips in protest, but that, too, was immediately shut down.
"And that gesture—you’re not allowed to do that in front of any other man, either!"
’It’s too alluring!’
’What man could resist the urge to kiss her when she does that?’
"..."
Clara Grant decided to simply ignore him, turning her head to gaze out the window. She was completely unaware of the lovely smile that had curved her lips.
Since it was nearly lunchtime, Seth Quinn took her to get something to eat before driving her back to the apartment.
Neither of them spoke for the entire ride. One focused on driving while the other watched the scenery pass by the window. The silence might have seemed excessive, but it was filled with a sense of quiet, peaceful contentment.
Just as they were about to arrive, Clara Grant suddenly called out, "Stop the car."
