Even though it was already winter, Shengjing’s nights were still dazzling with lights, and the traffic never stopped.

However, there were noticeably fewer pedestrians strolling around compared to the other three seasons. Generally, people were wrapped up tightly, like she and Bai Chenyao, who, after dinner, wore their coats, hats, and gloves, and went straight to their car to avoid the relentless cold wind.

Since Xu Ziqiao and Dong Tong had left earlier, Li Mu continued to focus on driving, while Mu Tiantian and Bai Chenyao sat in the back seat.

They hadn’t eaten too much or too little. Mu Tiantian tilted her head to look outside at the bustling street, observing the dazzling, dreamy lights and occasionally seeing one or two pedestrians wrapped up warmly, which reminded her of her past self.

During her work-study days, there were so many times she hadn’t returned home at this hour in the freezing winter snow.

She remembered once missing the last bus, and in the end, she had to grit her teeth and take a taxi home, making her day’s work feel like it was all in vain.

Suddenly, she heard Bai Chenyao’s voice: "What are you thinking about?"

Mu Tiantian smiled without looking at Bai Chenyao and continued gazing at the night view outside, feeling quite pleased, her white and tender doll-like face beaming with a bright smile.

"Thinking about the past, during my work-study days, I was often out at this time in such weather, not yet home."

After Mu Tiantian spoke, she felt Bai Chenyao’s arm reach around her back and slowly pull her into his embrace, letting her lean against him.

This scene was very familiar, yet every time she saw it, Mu Tiantian found it particularly stimulating and intoxicating.

Watching the droplets finally disappear into the loosely wrapped towel around Bai Chenyao’s waist, Mu Tiantian’s eyes flicked, and she quickly shut her eyes, pretending she hadn’t seen anything.

Then Mu Tiantian heard footsteps slowly approaching from the bathroom, eventually stopping at the bedside.

"Want me to carry you over?"

The deep, mellow voice sounded almost right against her ear.

Feeling guilty as a thief, Mu Tiantian’s face turned instantly red, ears burning, and she quickly opened her eyes, shaking her little head like a rattle.
