Extra’s Path To Demon King

Chapter 522: Three Way Battle

Chapter 522: Three Way Battle

Thorian’s adversary whispered the words one word after another in a resolute tone, "When I was but a child, I had to run away with my little brother, otherwise we would have been killed."

"I had to steal every day, just to eat. To feed my brother."

"I had to eat the trash that the rich nobles spat away from their mouths, because not every day was there a chance to steal food."

"I had to protect my brother and myself from the countless malicious people on the streets who had ulterior motives."

"I had to kill..."

"I had to scheme...."

"I had to escape, countless times, rob or hurt innocent people."

"Not because I wanted to, but because I had to."

"To grow stronger and live, and protect my younger brother."

"All that shit-ass drama that unfolded within the enriched chambers of your so-called royal palace could never compare to every second of torture that I lived through. That is the difference between us. That’s why you could never win against me."

"Your biggest mistake was looking down on me, Prince of Blackvale, when it should be me looking down on you instead."

She sighed, "But don’t worry, I won’t kill you. Because I am not allowed to."

Pulling Thorian in front, she stated in a menacing countenance, "But make sure to remember me. The one who defeated you was of no noble lineage or scion of a powerful figure, but a street thug, a thief, and a bandit who grew up in the streets of the Minor Kingdoms."

"I am Zena Karmann."

Zena grabbed Thorian’s face once more and chanted, "Thought Reversion."

The moment she said that, black, putrid veins popped all over Thorian’s body; they first appeared on his legs, and like wriggling black worms, they traveled upwards, worsening Thorian’s condition. Finally, when they appeared all over his bloody and injured face.

It looked disgustingly hideous, and the same black veins slowly appeared on Zena’s hand as if moving from Thorian’s body to Zena. But in fact, those black veins contained the true essence of Despair from Thorian, which was obviously generated from Zena’s Sin Amplification ability.

The moment Zena absorbed the true essence of Despair from Thorian, a multitude of notifications flashed in her retina one after another.

[Your Demon Bloodline has been purified slightly.]

[Your Demonic Energy reserves have increased.]

[The potency of your Demonic Energy has increased.]

[Your mental strength has significantly increased.]

At the same time, Thorian lost consciousness. Devouring another’s core negative emotions is the same as devouring a part of their willpower. Something that was far more deadly than even the worst of physical injuries.

20 minutes earlier, on the other side of the gray fog zone-

"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!"

A beastly scream escaped from Enrick’s mouth, which made everything within a kilometer tremble. His mind was overcome by the savage killing intent of seeing his kin die at the hands of another right in his face.

But the grin on the face of Wangnan only widened, making his handsome face look ghastly.

He took a step forward almost leisurely, but the sheer force contained in that light step was strong enough to make the ground cave in slightly, and with a bang, he was already halfway close to the Beast Attribute Assimilated Enrick.

But the latter was no slower than he. Enrick had lost his mind in rage, his beastly features becoming even more prominent.

Wangnan whispered, "Corruption Magic, Parasite whip."

A long tendril of dark mass of wriggling flesh manifested from the right hand of Wangnan. Except for the handle of the whip, the rest were hideous, filled with dark veins and countless small mouths that were filled with sharp teeth.

The corrupted elf stomped his feet on the ground, and his body shot upward, with a mighty swing, the writhing parasite whip slammed down on top of Enrick. The latter also attacked with his elongated claws, and a crescent arc of power shot out.

Though both attacks neutralized one another, Enrick, in his enraged state, did not stop; he stomped on the ground and jumped towards the floating Wangnan. Followed by a destructive howl that almost stunned Wangnan for a moment.

But only for a moment, the Corrupted Elf swung his arm, the parasite whip arching its body even in mid-air, lashing towards Enrick.

However, against the sharp claws that originated from Fenrir, the parasite whip could not hold on; it was cut into innumerable pieces.

The very moment Enrick’s claws were about to dig into the flesh of Wangnan, a third party entered the battlefield. A howl that could make the very battlefield tremble resounded in the very souls of the two combatants.

The threat of it was strong enough to instantly turn the heads of both Wangnan and Enrick towards the towering wolf, which radiated unbridled killing intent.

Yasmin had previously injured Fenrir’s eyes, but now they had healed. It may seem like it had taken a long time for the eyes and brain damage of the immortal wolf to heal, but in fact, it didn’t take much time. Only that, too many things had happened, and it all happened too fast.

The first thing Fenrir noticed was that the hateful one who injured its eyes was already dead. This enraged the creature even more, so its anger passed to the two figures fighting, Wangnan and Enrick.

The Immortal Wolf felt a subtle sense of threat from both; the conjurer who summoned him had somehow turned into Wolfkin, possessing Fenrir’s own bloodline and power, albeit to a lesser degree.

Then there was Wangnan, who contained a mysterious power that Fenrir could not even grasp. This made it hesitate for a few seconds.

Yet the next moment, the mythical wolf grinned viciously, letting out a howl that contained all of its lust for battle and slaughter. It was a creature that feared no threat; rather, it thrived in the face of adversity.

Fenrir was overflowing with destructive killing intent as it charged forward towards Wangnan, sensing most of the danger coming from him. Wangnan’s smiling face vanished, replaced by a serious look. He could take Enrick lightly, but not the immortal wolf; Gareth had cautioned him repeatedly on this matter.

And he could clearly see and feel the near-endless primal power contained within the Immortal Wolf; it was as if this beast were the very personification of Mother Nature’s wrath against all intelligent beings who sought to destroy nature’s harmony.

Wangnan did not hesitate and shouted, "Corruption Magic, Dread Python..."

The moment Wangnan said those words, the parasite whip on his hand transformed into a dark and malevolent shape of a hideous, gut-wrenching Python, oozing with corrupted essence.

The Dread Python exuded a vicious presence, its body moved through the air in a circular motion, and its speed was so fast that before Fenrir could even attempt to stop it, the Python had bitten the wolf in one of its front legs.

A trace of the darkest venom of corruption was injected into the leg of Fenrir. In the span of a few seconds, its leg had entirely turned black. But the wolf’s spirit of battle only flared up with even more intensity as a response to that attack.

Fenrir opened its monstrous maw and bit down on Wangnan. The wolf’s mouth was big enough to devour him whole with ease. The corrupted elf’s expression turned ferocious as he chanted, "Corruption Magic, Parasite Nest Arrow."

A black colored, frail arrow appeared in his hand. At a glance, it looked like a crudely made, jagged stick cut from the most rotten wood, and did not look like an arrow in any form or shape.

Wangnan threw the arrow into Fenrir’s mouth, not using a bow but with his bare hands. Inside the maws of the titanic beast, the rotten stick pierced and stayed within the throat of the Ragnarok Wolf. An immeasurable amount of pain flooded Fenrir’s brain.

Though the Beast of Ragnarok stumbled for a moment, it still bit off an arm of Wangnan.

Wangnan’s expression twisted in pain, he hurriedly stomped his feet onto the ground, to move back, yet suddenly, a sense of danger came from behind, too fast and abrupt. Sharp claws pierced through his back. Another clawed hand grabbed his throat.

Enrick stated in a monstrous fury, "I WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID TO MY SISTER."

Wangnan coughed up an unhealthy amount of blood. But then he grinned, because Enrick did not seem to realize the nature of his own Conjuration, the nature of the Immortal Wolf.

If Fenrir did not receive any injury to its eyes or brain, then no matter what sort of setback it suffered, whether it was having corrupted poison being injected in its veins, or having its limb rot. It would recover through its monstrous regeneration almost instantly.

This time, the ferocious wolf attacked its own summoner. Biting down on Enrick, under the sheer might of the Wolf’s jaws, Enrick’s body was punctured by the Wolf’s jagged teeth with ruthless grace. Then Fenrir threw the body of the Transcendent Conjurer to the other side, like spitting out bad food.

Suddenly, the Corrupted Elf’s voice reached the ears of the Immortal Wolf, as the beast’s head turned.

"So, it’s a three-way battle? Then so be it," chuckled The Thrall of Osiris, as he chanted coldly, "Corruption magic, Manifestation of the Fallen Tree."
