His Mistress is His Ex-Wife

Chapter 341: The Real Culprit

Chapter 341: The Real Culprit

Dominique had been waiting for this moment. Finally! The person involved in his family’s massacre case was captured by Miguel’s men.

"Okay, Dad. I’m going there."

After hanging up the phone, he quickly turned to Sabrina.

"Sab, I’m sorry. Something came up. I need to leave. Shall we schedule another family bonding the day after tomorrow?" He consulted her.

Sabrina could tell that Dominique was in a hurry, so she wondered what the phone call was about.

"I’m fine with it. If it’s urgent, then you have to go now. I’ll explain this to Aaron," Sabrina replied, hiding her disappointment.

She was supposed to reveal that she already knew about her father’s crime. Unfortunately, they were interrupted by that phone call.

Meanwhile, Dominique handed her a key to a resort cabin. "You can take a nap. I rented the cabin for one night. The staff will assist you with everything you need. I’m really sorry, Sab. I really want to stay longer... but... this matter is very urgent. I’ll come back later."

They were supposed to stay in the resort until evening.

"Don’t worry. I understand," she reassured him.

Dominique pulled her closer as he planted a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Please message me later once you reach home."

Dominique gently transferred Aaron’s head to Sabrina’s lap before he stood up. He glanced at her and at Aaron’s sleeping figure one last time before he turned around to leave.

Sabrina could only watch his retreating back until he vanished from her sight. Her heart felt so heavy in Dominique’s absence.

She took a deep sigh, shifting her gaze back to the horizon.

’I hate to say goodbye,’ she thought to herself, her heart clenching in sorrow.

Then, she gazed down, gently stroking Aaron’s hair. "Son, your Dad left for a moment. But don’t worry. I’m here. I hope once you wake up, he is back... with us."

There was a trace of yearning in her eyes as she uttered those words. She quickly shook her head, pushing the negative thoughts to the back of her mind.

Feeling a little bit lonely, Sabrina picked up her phone to check if someone had messaged her.

She was scanning her phone when she received a phone call from Vladimir.

’Should I answer or not? If I answer this phone, he might ask me about my whereabouts. But if I ignore it, he might overthink again and get worried about me.’

After contemplating for a few seconds, Sabrina finally answered the call.

"Hello, Sab. I have great news!" Vladimir’s elated voice echoed from the other line.

"What is it?" she asked with intrigue.

"The leader of the kidnappers has been captured by my father’s men. They are going to interrogate him now to find out who the mastermind is behind your kidnapping. Do you want to go there and see for yourself?"

Sabrina’s eyes lit up when she heard that. "Yes! I want to hear the confession myself. Can you bring me there, V?"

"Yes. Of course. Where are you? I’m going to pick you up."

"No need. Just tell me the address. We can meet there." Sabrina chose not to reveal her current location. Vladimir might wonder what she was doing in a beach resort.

"Okay. I’ll wait for you. I’ll send the address to your messenger," Vladimir said.

Sabrina ended the call right away. Then she messaged her brother, Enzo.

[ Brother, I need you to come here. Please watch Aaron for me. ]

She didn’t want to bring Aaron with her. She was going to confront the criminal, so it was best for Aaron to stay behind.

Sabrina waited for Enzo to arrive first before leaving the resort.

Meanwhile, at Miguel’s secret base...

The scream of a man and the sound of a finger being dislocated echoed in the prison cell. Miguel’s head bodyguard was doing the torture when Dominique arrived.

"How is it, Dad? Did he say something?" Dominique asked.

"No. We haven’t started any interrogation yet. This is just a warm-up," Miguel replied, smirking slyly.

"We are waiting for you. Since you are now here, he is all yours! Go, son. Tear him apart. Make him feel the same pain and misery you’ve experienced before." Miguel encouraged him, tapping Dominique’s shoulder.

"Thanks, Dad," Dominique replied, his cold eyes fixed on the man screaming in pain.

Miguel signaled his men to leave as Dominique took charge.

Dominique’s heart raced as he traced his steps toward the man. He had mixed feelings right now– mad, excited, and anxious.

He was afraid that he might lose control and end up killing this man.

’Am I ready to kill a person with my own hands?’ He pondered to himself as he slowly approached the leader of the gang.

Soon, he reached the spot, standing in front of the chained man.

His smug and arrogant attitude was gone. The intense fear was evident in the man’s eyes the moment he met Dominique’s gaze. At that very moment, he knew he was doomed!

Dominique maintained his cold demeanor as he picked up a dagger from the torture table.

"Now, it’s my turn to collect your debt," he declared through gritted teeth.

The gang leader tried his best to put on a brave front. He must think of a way to negotiate with them in exchange for his life.

"Dominique! Spare my life, and I’ll tell you everything! I am also willing to testify." The man spoke up, grinning.

Dominique just sneered at him. "Trying to negotiate, huh?! I’m here to torture you... until you beg me to kill you. I don’t need your confession. We can identify the mastermind behind Sabrina’s kidnapping incident by hacking your mobile phone and tracing all your bank transactions."

"You are here just to satiate my hunger for revenge..."

Dominique’s remarks sent chills down his spine. The gang leader became more frightened for his life.

’Damn it! Am I going to die here?! No way!’

"Aaaah!" the gang leader screamed in excruciating pain when Dominique removed one of his nails using the dagger.

"No! No! Dom! Please... Listen to me first! There is something you didn’t know... Aaah!!!" The gang leader spoke in panic. He felt so desperate.

His second nail had been removed. Dominique was not paying attention to his words. He focused on inflicting pain on the man. He removed his nails one after another.

The gang leader begged him to stop, his face soaked with tears and snot. His blood splattered on the floor as Dominique continued with his torture.

"Stop! Please. I’ll tell you something! The real culprit behind your family’s death!"

Dominique only stopped when he heard those words. Frowning deeply, he shifted his gaze to the man’s face.

"What do you mean, the real culprit?"

The gang leader panted heavily, feeling a little bit relieved when he finally caught Dominique’s interest.

"W-Water... I need water..." he demanded in his hoarse voice.

"Is this some kind of delaying tactic? No matter what you do, no one will save you here. So stop lying already." Dominique was about to remove the last nail on his finger when the gang leader spoke again.

"I’m not lying... You were wrong about Albert Williams... He was not the person who was with me... the night we attacked your family!"
