Chapter 356: The "D" Day
Chapter 356: The "D" Day
Five days had passed since Sabrina learned about Dominique’s illness. They were still searching for him as he suddenly disappeared without a trace.
Despite her anxiety about Dominique’s well-being, Sabrina tried her best to look cheerful in front of everyone.
Today was her wedding day.
She stood at the front of the full-body mirror, watching her reflection. She looked stunning in her white dress, yet her eyes appeared so dull and empty.
She took a deep breath before forcing herself to smile. Deep inside, her heart was uneasy and troubled with worries and concern for Dominique.
Five days ago, she asked Don Miguel for help in searching for him. The middle-aged man confronted her.
’You are about to marry my son, but why... why are you here... worrying about Dominique?’
The only answer she could tell him was this– ’Because he is my son’s father.’
"Stop worrying about him. You should focus on your wedding!" Sabrina mumbled as she looked at her reflection.
A soft knock interrupted her lone moment.
"Sis, are you ready? Everyone is already in the church. The bridal car is also waiting outside." Enzo’s voice was heard behind the door.
"Yes, I’m ready," she replied before heading toward the door.
The moment she stepped out of her room, Sabrina flashed her charming smile, concealing all her negative emotions.
Today was her special day, yet her mind was wandering somewhere else.
"Mom!" Aaron quickly approached her. "You are so beautiful!" he said, grabbing her hand.
Sabrina’s eyes turned more saddened at the sight of Aaron’s face. Until now, her son was still clueless that his father had disappeared.
She gently caressed his cheeks. "My son..." her voice trembled, fighting the urge to cry.
She just bent over and hugged Aaron tightly.
"Mommy, I want you to be happy. I love you," the young boy uttered, patting her back.
"I love you more... my son."
"Mommy, don’t cry, or else, it might ruin your makeup."
Sabrina just nodded before breaking the hug.
"Shall we go?" Enzo asked, extending his right hand to his sister.
He escorted her, walking toward the gate. Aaron was also helping his mother, holding and lifting the train of her long bridal gown to make her walk easily.
They had just reached the bridal car when a man in a black suit approached them. He was holding a guitar case and a folder.
"Miss Sabrina Williams," the man in his mid-30s called out.
Enzo, Sabrina, and Aaron looked at him in puzzlement.
"Do we know you?" Enzo asked with intrigue, scanning the man from head to toe.
"I’m Mr. Dominique Smith’s attorney."
Sabrina’s eyes glinted with hope at the mention of Dominique’s name.
"Where is Dominique? Have you found him?" Sabrina instinctively grabbed the attorney’s shoulders, eager to hear some good news related to Dominique’s whereabouts.
But to her disappointment, the attorney shook his head, indicating he didn’t know anything.
"I’m just here to deliver something... Mr. Smith said this was his wedding gift for you and he wished you all the best." He passed the sealed envelope to her.
Then he turned to Aaron.
He handed the guitar case to the young. "And this one is for Young Master Aaron."
Aaron’s eyes lit up in excitement. "Oh. This is familiar. This is Dad’s old guitar. Is he giving me this? For real?"
The attorney nodded with a smile. "Yes, young master. He wants you to play this guitar. Take care of it."
"Thank you, Attorney! I will cherish this guitar." Aaron hugged the guitar case.
He was just a little bit disappointed since his father didn’t show up personally. But he fully understood him.
Aaron believed that his father couldn’t bear to see Sabrina marrying another guy, which was why he only sent his attorney to send his wedding gifts.
Meanwhile, Sabrina could no longer wait. She quickly tore off the envelope to find out what was inside. Perhaps Dominique had sent her a letter. She wanted to read it before heading to church.
Enzo just stood silently by her side, giving his sister some time to finally let go of her lingering feelings for Dominique.
Besides, they were not yet late. They had plenty of time before the wedding ceremony started.
"You can call me here if you have questions. I’m sorry, but I have to go. I was in a hurry because my son has been hospitalized. I am supposed to bring this gift to your wedding reception, but my wife informed me that my son got sick. I can only deliver it in advance... to fulfill my client’s wish."
The attorney passed his calling card to Enzo before he left.
Meanwhile, Sabrina had been immersed in reading the document in her hand. Her heart constricted even more at the content.
’No! This is Dominique’s last will and testament...’
Sabrina’s legs almost gave out; fortunately, Enzo was quick enough to catch her and support her body.
"Aaron, please get a glass of water for your Mom first," Enzo ordered, making it an excuse to send Aaron back to the house so that he could talk to Sabrina alone.
"Sabrina, what’s wrong?" Enzo asked in a worried tone.
Sabrina’s eyes became misty, her body shook, and her hands trembled.
"Bro... Dom... sent me his last will and testament. It looks like he is ready to die at any moment. He doesn’t have a plan of getting treated... I... I don’t want this. I don’t want him to die, Bro."
Sabrina could no longer contain her emotions. She finally exploded, sobbing in front of her brother, Enzo.
"I... want to see him... I still want to see him..." She said in between her cries.
"What should I do, Bro?"
Enzo felt sorry for her. He could hear the desperation in her voice. All he could do was hug her to comfort her.
No one knew where Dominique was. If only he knew where to find him, he would definitely bring Sabrina to him.

Meanwhile, at Alfonso William’s residence...
He prepared a feast for his family. Melody and his wife were with him.
"Oh, Dad, why do you look so happy today? Aren’t we going to attend my cousin’s wedding? We can go there and gatecrash!" Melody suggested.
But Alfonso shook his head while smiling slyly.
"No need for that. I already sent her a surprise gift. Hahaha. And after today, the whole company will be ours again," he said, rejoicing at his predetermined victory.
"Honey, are you sure about that?" Alfonso’s wife asked him excitedly.
He just nodded, giving her a reassuring look.
He could already imagine how the venue would explode today while the bride and groom were dancing on the dance floor.
The person he assigned for this task had already contacted him. He received a message that the bombs had been installed in different parts of the venue. This would be a mass killing. Blood would be spilled soon.
The supposed blissful occasion would turn into chaos, and the married couple and their guests would have a tragic death today.
Alfonso sliced his beefsteak, grinning from ear to ear.
The family of three was still enjoying their meal when suddenly, someone barged into their house.
"Alfonso Williams..."
The three of them followed the source of that voice, only to be surprised to see Dominique standing before them.
"Dominique Smith?! What the hell are you doing here?"
