Chapter 358: To Stop Dominique
Chapter 358: To Stop Dominique
At the church, everything was set. The invited guests had started arriving.
Vladimir kept pacing back and forth as they waited for the bridal car to arrive.
"Hey. Calm down, Bro. This is my first time seeing you getting nervous like this. Stop moving. You are making me dizzy."
Lanny chuckled while patting Vladimir’s shoulder. She started teasing him to make him relax.
"Have you contacted her? Is she really coming?" Vladimir asked Lanny expectantly. He had this nagging feeling, thinking that Sabrina might suddenly back out.
Vladimir wasn’t certain if the time and space he had given her were enough to make up her mind.
Would she really choose him?
That question lingered in his mind.
Meanwhile, Lanny nodded in response. "Relax, Bro. Sabrina will come. Enzo sent me a photo of your bride earlier. She looks so stunning in her wedding dress."
Her words made Vladimir feel better. The uneasiness in his heart started to fade. He glanced at the church entrance with hopeful eyes.
He couldn’t wait to see Sabrina. Today was the day he was going to tie the knot with the woman he loved. He was both excited and anxious.
But most importantly, he was looking forward to this new Chapter of their lives.
It didn’t take long before his father, Miguel Ivankov, also arrived. He was escorted by his men.
Vladimir and Miguel met each other’s gaze. He bowed his head, greeting his father respectfully.
"Congratulations, son," Miguel said, holding his son’s shoulder. His lips curled up into a faint smile. He was genuinely happy for him.
"Thanks, Dad," Vladimir responded.
He was glad that he reconciled with his father. He didn’t want to admit it, but Dominique was one of the reasons why his father finally accepted his decision to marry Sabrina, instead of marrying another woman for the sake of an alliance.
"Grandpa! I missed you!" Kimmy’s elated voice echoed at the entrance of the church.
The little girl immediately ran toward her grandpa and hugged him.
"You are here, my sweet girl." Miguel’s smile widened at the sight of his granddaughter. He crouched down, picking her up.
"Is Little Aaron not here yet?" He asked Kimmy.
"Not yet, Grandpa. He will escort the bride."
Miguel nodded with a smile.
"I brought a gift." He said, shifting his attention back to Vladimir and Lanny.
The siblings exchanged glances with one another, curious about their father’s gift.
Miguel summoned his right-hand man. He approached them, holding a small box. He presented it to Vladimir.
"Take it," Miguel urged him.
Vladimir accepted the small box. He unwrapped it.
A few seconds later, Vladimir’s eyes widened upon seeing a gold signet ring engraved with the Ivankov family crest and initials.
Lanny also gasped upon seeing the gift.
"Dad, what is the meaning of this?" Vladimir asked him with disbelief.
Obtaining this clan heirloom meant one thing– passing down the leadership of the clan.
"Today, I acknowledge you as my true heir... the future leader of our clan. I’m leaving the Ivankov Clan in your care." Miguel declared.
Both Vladimir and Lanny were speechless. They never expected that their father would suddenly decide to pass the leadership to Vladimir.
"In addition, I’ve already notified the two clans. I already broke the marriage alliance. You and Lanny are free to marry the people you love. I’m not getting in the way of your happiness."
"Dad..." Lanny mumbled, looking at him with grateful eyes. "I don’t know what to say... This is unexpected."
Vladimir held the signet ring with mixed feelings. "Is this true, Dad? Are you willing to give me this responsibility?"
Miguel nodded. "Yes. I want you to know that I’m trusting you because you are my son. You’ve proven your worth. I know you can lead our clan."
Vladimir was over the moon. He felt like he finally achieved one of his life goals. He became the second most powerful person in the Ivankov Clan. And it happened today... the same day of his wedding.
"Thanks, Dad, for believing in me. I will not disappoint you!" Vladimir said, his voice filled with determination.
Miguel just gave him an approving look while gripping his shoulder.
"I can’t wait to see how you will run our organization in the coming days. For now, you have to focus on your wedding day."
Vladimir smiled and bobbed his head.
In the middle of their conversation, Miguel’s right-hand man approached him and whispered something.
Miguel’s eyebrow twitched. Then he put down Kimmy. He excused himself for a moment, following his right-hand man.
"What did you just say? You already knew where to find Dominique?!" Miguel questioned him.
Miguel had been searching for Dominique for the past few days, but his men failed to find his whereabouts.
His right-hand man was named Gonzalo. He looked at Miguel anxiously.
"Master, forgive me for telling you this... In fact, I promised Young Master Dominique not to reveal his whereabouts... but my conscience won’t allow me to stay silent... especially after learning what he was planning."
Miguel quickly grabbed Gonzalo by his collar.
"How could you hide this from me?! Where is Dominique? What is he planning to do?" He bombarded him with questions.
"For the past few days, Young Master Dominique has given me an important task. He also asked me to provide him with explosives. Today, he was going to implement his revenge plan against Alfonso Williams. At this hour, he might be on the move."
Miguel let out a sigh of relief and released Gonzalo. "I’m glad he is still fine. So... that’s the reason he went missing. It turned out he was just preparing for his revenge. I understand him. I’m going to see him after the wedding ceremony."
Gonzalo still looked troubled. "Master... I’m afraid that you won’t see young master Dominique again after this wedding..."
Miguel frowned upon hearing that. "What do you mean by that?"
Gonzalo swallowed hard before revealing what he knew.
"It seems that... Young Master Dominique is planning to die together with Alfonso."
Miguel’s face turned ghostly pale. He shook his head frantically.
"No! I can’t let this happen. I won’t allow him to die!"
"Master... his decision is final. No one can change his mind. He seems determined to die with his enemy–"
Miguel didn’t waste his time as he hastily dragged him with him.
"I said. I WON’T LET HIM DIE!"
Miguel and Gonzalo quickly entered the car. He ordered him to drive, heading to Alfonso’s residence.
They had just entered the highway when Miguel noticed the bridal car in the opposite lane. His eyes lit up when an idea popped into his mind.
"Intercept the bridal car. NOW!" Miguel commanded.
Gonzalo quickly obeyed, turning the wheels as he cut the bridal car. Both vehicles stopped in the middle of the road.
Miguel alighted from the car instantly. Enzo was the one who stepped out of the other car.
"Mr. Ivankov, what is the meaning of this? Are you doing this to stop the wedding?" Enzo asked him.
Miguel shook his head. "No. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that. I’m here to ask a favor from you. Is Aaron inside the car?"
Enzo frowned but still nodded.
"Can I bring him with me?" Miguel said with urgency.
"Why? The wedding is about to start. Where are you bringing my nephew?"
Aaron and Sabrina rolled down the car window, trying to find out what was going on.
"Grandpa? Why are you here?" Aaron butted in while taking a peek through the car window.
Sabrina darted her gaze back and forth between Enzo and Don Miguel.
"Aaron... I need your help. Can you come with me, please?"
"Grandpa, what’s wrong?" Aaron asked in confusion.
Enzo and Sabrina also gave Miguel a questioning look.
Miguel hesitated for a moment. But he had no time to waste.
"This is related to your father, Dominique. Please come with me... to save him."
"My Dad!"
Without hesitation, Aaron opened the car.
"Mom... Can I go to see my Dad?" He asked Sabrina’s permission.
Sabrina was silent for a moment.
"Mr. Ivankov... What’s going on here? Why do you need Aaron?"
There was no way Miguel could answer her in front of Aaron.
Taking a deep breath, he eventually gave her a vague response.
"Dominique... is in your Uncle’s residence right now... I have to stop him. To do that, I will need Aaron’s help..."
Hearing those words, Sabrina and Enzo had figured it out right away. Dominique was getting his revenge.
"Mom... is it okay for me to see my Dad? It seems like he is in trouble..."
This time, Sabrina released Aaron’s hand, allowing him to come with Miguel.
