His Mistress is His Ex-Wife

Chapter 362: Lanny’s Anger

Chapter 362: Lanny’s Anger

As Sabrina deliberately distracted Dominique with a kiss, Miguel Ivankov and his men started to move.

Earlier, before Sabrina entered the mansion, the two of them had already agreed on what they must do.

She volunteered to talk to Dominique while Miguel stayed behind to observe. He also dispatched his men to search for and disarm the bombs.

They divided the task just to secure everyone’s safety. No one had to die today! That’s their goal.

While Dominique was so immersed in kissing Sabrina, Miguel discreetly moved behind him. With one strike, he knocked Dominique down.

Smack!

One hit at the base of his skull immediately put Dominique to sleep. Sabrina reacted quickly to catch his body, preventing him from falling to the floor.

"Don Miguel," she mumbled, looking at him.

"Just bring him to the hospital, Sabrina. I’ll take care of everything here," He commanded.

"I’ll clean up this mess," he added, drifting his gaze to Alfonso, who was barely alive.

"Please don’t kill them," she spoke up.

Despite Alfonso’s crime, Sabrina didn’t want her cousin and Uncle to die.

"You don’t have to worry about them. Dying is an easy punishment for this guy, so I won’t let him die just yet. I have a private medical facility. I’ll send them there."

"For now, just get Dominique out of here."

"Ryan! Escort Sabrina and Dominique." Miguel called out one of his men.

He assisted Sabrina, taking the unconscious Dominique with him. He escorted them to the car.

"Where should we go now, Miss Sabrina?"

Sabrina glanced at Dominique for a moment.

"To the hospital..."

She decided to bring him to Gael’s private hospital.

"Can I borrow your phone? I have to call someone."

"Sure, Ma’am."

She didn’t waste her time as she dialed Enzo’s phone number.

"Hello?"

"Brother, it’s me, Sab. I’m rushing Dominique to the hospital right now."

"Is he hurt? How about you?" Enzo’s worried tone echoed from the other line.

"We are fine. But I have to make sure Dominique gets his treatment. I wanna know his current condition."

Sabrina was referring to his cancer.

"Alright. I’m going there with Aaron. What is the name of the hospital?"

"Gael’s private hospital."

"Okay. I’ll inform Gael. He is still with us here in the church."

Sabrina fell silent at the mention of the church. She was supposed to marry Vladimir today. But she didn’t come.

"Bro, is Vladimir..." she couldn’t finish her words.

"He had already made an announcement, sending off the guests. You have to talk to him later, Sab."

"Yeah, I know. I’ll explain everything to him."

"Alright. I’m hanging up. See you in the hospital, sis."

The call had already ended, but Sabrina was still in a daze. The guilt started to consume. She didn’t know how to face Vladimir.

’I hurt Vladimir. What am I supposed to tell him?’ She slammed her eyes shut and clenched her teeth.

It didn’t take long before they reached the hospital.

Everyone had been staring at Sabrina since she was still wearing her wedding dress. But her white dress was now stained with blood. They thought something had happened to her groom.

She didn’t mind the people looking at her. She just processed Dominique’s hospital admission, taking him to a private ward.

She stayed by his side, waiting for him to regain consciousness.

As Sabrina watched his sleeping figure, she realized that she didn’t regret what she did today. She managed to save him and stop him from killing someone.

She reached out, caressing his face. Her heart tightened as she noticed that Dominique had lost some weight. He also looked pale.

’His illness makes his body frail and weak.’

Her tears began to fall, streaming down her face.

"Dom," she murmured. "You have to stay strong. You have to stay alive. Don’t succumb to your illness."

"Aaron still needs you. You are his father."

She began wiping his face with a clean, damp cloth.

"Mom! Dad!"

The door slid open, and Aaron emerged from it. He immediately ran toward the bed upon seeing Sabrina and Dominique. Enzo and Gael trailed behind him.

"Aaron, you are here."

The young boy hugged his mother. "Mom, is Dad going to be fine? Is he sick?"

Sabrina’s heart ached further as Aaron began to sob. His eyes were swollen and red.

"Aaron, how did you find out?"

Gael and Enzo looked at Sabrina guiltily.

"I’m sorry, Sis. He overheard our conversation." Enzo apologized right away.

Aaron was now aware of Dominique’s illness.

"Don’t worry, Aaron. Your Dad’s illness can still be treated." Gael also spoke up to console the young boy. "I’m a doctor, so you have to believe me."

This time, Aaron wiped his tears and nodded. "I believe you, Uncle Gael. Please make my Dad feel better. Cure him."

"Yes, I will. But this will also depend on your father’s willingness to undergo treatment. Once he wakes up, you have to convince him to trust me."

Aaron bobbed his head frantically. "Leave this to me, Uncle Gael. I will make my Dad listen to my mom and me."

Gael could only smile at him.

Meanwhile, Enzo approached Sabrina, handing her a paper bag.

"I brought you a change of clothes. Lanny is waiting for you outside. She wishes to talk to you."

Lanny was still upset, so she decided to stay outside the ward. She didn’t want to see Sabrina and Dominique together. She felt sorry for her brother, Vladimir.

"Okay. I’ll change my clothes first."

Sabrina felt uneasy. She assumed that Lanny was mad at her for running away from the wedding.

After putting on a new set of clothes, she headed out to see Lanny.

She was silently leaning on the wall. She straightened her posture when she saw Sabrina.

"Follow me," Lanny said in her distant, cold voice.

Sabrina felt like crying as she could feel Lanny’s anger and disappointment.

The two of them headed to the hospital rooftop. No one disturbed their conversation there.

Upon reaching the rooftop, Lanny faced Sabrina. And without saying a word, she slapped her.

Smack!

"How could you do this to my brother, Sabrina?!" she snapped, her voice dripping with scorn.

Sabrina remained silent, her hand pressing against her reddened cheek.

Her silence made Lanny even more frustrated. She grabbed her shoulders and shook her body.

"Speak up, Sab! My brother and I did everything for you... and this is how you are going to return the favor!!!"

"My brother is willing to abandon everything just to be with you... but you–"

"Lanny, STOP!"

Vladimir’s stern voice was heard from behind.

Before they could react, Vladimir had already moved, freeing Sabrina from Lanny’s tight grip.

"Brother, are you still going to protect her?"

"Enough! Don’t do anything that you might regret later. Leave us, Lanny!"

Lanny shook her head in disbelief.

"See, this stupid brother of mine is still trying to protect you... even though you’ve hurt his feelings, Sabrina."

"I said ENOUGH!" Vladimir yelled at her.

Lanny narrowed her eyes, but she said no more. She turned around and left.

Sabrina stood still, unable to look at Vladimir. She couldn’t face him.

"Vladimir..." she uttered, her voice barely audible.

Without a warning, Vladimir suddenly pulled her, wrapping her in his arms as he hugged her tight.
