Chapter 1254: Maybe He Doesn’t Want Us to Know
Seeing that the one knocking was Ryan Taylor, Easton Holmes immediately responded, "You need something from me?"
He asked as he walked toward the person standing at the door.
"Yeah, something came up."
Ryan Taylor nodded, but he clearly had no intention of going in. He stepped around Easton Holmes, who was walking toward him, and waved past him, smiling as he greeted Lily Turner inside the room.
Lily Turner smiled back at him the same way. "Ryan! Come in and talk."
She didn’t walk over together with Easton Holmes, but stayed where she was, inviting her cousin into the room to talk.
"No need, I’ll just talk to Easton outside." Ryan Taylor refused to go in to discuss things. When Easton Holmes reached the doorway, he shot him a look, and the other man instantly understood what he meant.
Easton Holmes got the message. He turned back and waved at Lily Turner. "Go rest in the living room. Ryan and I will chat outside for a bit."
With that, he stepped out through the door.
Seeing the two brothers about to start talking, Auntie Li very tactfully closed the door and turned back into the house.
Lily Turner glanced at the door that had just shut, then turned and walked toward the living room.
"Easton went out?" Seeing Lily Turner come back alone, Amelia Linton, who was holding little Anan, casually asked.
"My cousin needed to talk to him about something."
Lily Turner pointed toward outside, then strode over to where Amelia Linton was sitting on the sofa—more accurately, she headed toward little Anan in Amelia Linton’s arms.
At first, Amelia Linton didn’t react to who the "cousin" Lily Turner mentioned was. She stared blankly for a moment before suddenly coming to her senses. By the time she did, Lily Turner was already sitting down beside her. "Why didn’t Ryan come in to talk?"
She tilted her head to glance toward the direction of the living room door, not seeing anyone else follow them in.
"Maybe whatever they’re talking about is something they don’t want us to know."
Lily Turner was purely speaking offhandedly and didn’t think much of it, but her casual remark actually hit the nail on the head.
What Ryan Taylor wanted to say to Easton Holmes was indeed something he didn’t want them to know—more precisely, something he didn’t want her to know.
"What do you need to talk to me about? You look so serious." Easton Holmes glanced back at the tightly closed door. His gaze shifted, landing on Ryan Taylor, whose expression looked rather strained. "Say it now."
If his instincts weren’t off, his good brother wanted to talk about something he didn’t want his wife to hear.
Ryan Taylor paused for a moment, then slowly began, "Auntie Autumn just called me, asked me to go talk some sense into Thomas. After having a fight with Auntie Autumn, he moved out of the house."
At this point, he let out a helpless sigh.
"Why did they fight? Because of Alice Turner?" The moment he heard Ryan Taylor say that Thomas Fisher had moved out after arguing with Autumn York, Easton Holmes immediately guessed it had something to do with Alice Turner. He just didn’t understand why mother and son were only fighting about it now—Alice Turner had been gone for a year and a half already.
Ryan Taylor let out a deep sigh. "Thomas somehow found out that Alice Turner’s disappearing without a word back then had something to do with Auntie Autumn."
He wasn’t entirely clear on the specifics either; this was just what his good brother’s mother had told him.
"Where did he move to now?"
Easton Holmes had more or less already guessed the situation. When Alice Turner left over a year ago, he had actually thought of this possibility.
Because he’d been worried there would be conflict between Thomas Fisher and Autumn York, he hadn’t said anything at the time. He hadn’t expected what he’d worried about to end up happening anyway.
